While the number of companies worldwide reporting on their sustainability performance reaches record high, they still remain a minority. New figures released by GRI in July 2009 show that the number of companies and other organizations issuing sustainability reports has risen markedly over the last year. GRI is now aware of over 1,000 organizations worldwide who have issued sustainability reports based on the GRI G3 Guidelines in 2008 – the highest number ever.
At the same time, growing numbers of companies, NGOs and Crown Corporations are looking for processes and enterprise solutions that allow for analysis, collection, and benchmarking as well as presentation of non-financial as well as financial performance data.
