EthicScan invites you to a participatory forum on responsible business. What do we now know about how best to integrate social, economic and environmental considerations in business? Is it true that there is no single formula or “magic bullet” that will enable companies to monitor performance, inspire loyalty, integrate reporting, optimize governance, and nurture corporate ethical orientation? Does whistle-blowing actually increase compliance in the long run? Are the many corporate responsibility reporting standards ever going to coalesce? What are the practical implications of Canada’s principles-based ethics programs versus the compliance-oriented, Sarbanes-Oxley approach? Why do Canadian researchers conclude that there is no correlation between good governance, on the one hand, and corporate profitability or ethical behaviour, on the other? We propose that Forums will be set up, conducted by leaders in the following industry categories:
