Bart Astor is the author of eleven books and numerous articles that have appeared on websites and in U.S. national magazines. His book Baby Boomers Guide to Caring for Aging Parents has been featured on several radio and television talk shows, including ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Fox Morning News, and National Public Radio’s “Marketplace.” Bart was also the author of interactive, multilevel web-based personal plans for epotec.com, publisher of a national newsletter on college planning, and a contributing author and editor for various college guides. Before beginning his career as a freelance writer, Bart worked in student financial aid administration, the paperboard packaging industry, and as a researcher in higher education. Bart received his bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University and his Master of Public Administration from San Jose State University.

Nigel Blumenthal was born in England and educated there, qualifying as a professional Chartered (Company) Secretary. After emigrating to Canada, where he worked in advertising and corporate trust work for Canada Permanent Trust, he struck out on his own as a corporate secretarial consultant. As a consultant he designed Canada’s first entity management software for large corporations, and had many of Canada’s top companies as corporate clients. After joining his consulting company with that of a competitor, he ran the Canadian office of a US software company — selling, designing and enhancing corporate and legal software — before returning to the consulting field and becoming involved in corporate and governance consulting. Nigel is the former Chair of the Ontario Branch of Chartered Secretaries Canada and also of that organization’s Editorial Committee which produces the magazine Corporate Governance Quarterly.

Dave Gaylor has been a consultant specializing in the evaluation and development of environment, health and safety (EHS) management processes in many types organizations internationally. His specialty has been the integration of common EHS and management assessment tools used in quality management to make effective use of organizational resources. Knowledge of environment, health and safety regulatory requirements in Canada, the U.S, EEC and Australia as well as international standards such as ISO 14001 and the ISO 9000 series and industry association initiatives such as Responsible Care® have served as the backbone for this activity. Dave has over 25 years experience, fifteen of which were in the chemical industry and 10 as an EHS management consultant which included international EHS auditing. Dave is the content expert on the EthicsAssurance Environmental module.

Lynne Hall, Managing Director of Management Counsel, LLC, advises boards of directors and executive management of corporate, academic, philanthropic, governmental and multilateral organizations in Europe and the Americas on governance, ethical conduct, strategies for realizing maximum value from innovation, the negotiation of alliances, joint ventures and partnerships, the formation of new ventures, and the transformation of existing enterprise. She attended Harvard Business and Law Schools, the London School of Economics, Yale Law School, and is currently matriculating in a master’s program in moral theology at the Ecumenical Institute of St. Mary’s Seminary and University of Baltimore, MD. Prior to founding Management Counsel, Lynne enjoyed a successful career in corporate general management with General Electric, AT&T, and the Royal Dutch Shell Group of Companies, followed by international management consulting with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Canada and Andersen Consulting in Europe. Lynne is the author of a number of books and articles in refereed journals, has been elected and appointed to the boards of directors of a number of corporate, academic and philanthropic institutions, has served two past US presidents, and is the recipient of a number of honors and distinctions including a Fulbright Fellowship.

Eric Litwack is an ethicist and Ph.D. philosopher with an extensive background in academia, community work, and translation. He has taught at academic institutions in both Canada and the U.K., and has been a consultant to the British Government on a key project in Ukraine. As a member of the content team of EthicsAssurance, Eric brings to the team many years of university-level teaching as well as research, consulting and writing skills. He has published and presented widely on ethics and general analytical philosophy. Eric is also an expert on trouble-shooting skills and applied logic, which he has taught to university students.

Gay Miller is a Senior Human Resources Advisor with The PartnerFirm, Inc., a Human Resources Consultancy. Gay’s expertise rests in the areas of Human Resources Strategic Planning and Leadership Development. She is respected throughout the Technology Sector for the design and implementation of a unilateral leadership development program that systematically identifies and promotes ethical leaders within global organizations. Gay studied at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and completed Executive Human Resources Management studies at the University of Michigan. She was a pioneer of the Human Resources transition from tactical administration to strategic business partner and has since gathered over 20 years of industry experience, of which 15 years were spent in positions at the senior management or executive level.

David Nitkin is the President of EthicScan Canada, Canada’s oldest, full-service ethics consultancy, and is co-author of three books, The Ethical Shoppers Guide [Broadview Press: 1992], Shopping With a Conscience [Wiley: 1996] and Ethical Wills [FC: 2002]. He is an international speaker, writer and trainer in the area of Ethics in Business, publisher of The Corporate Ethics Monitor, a sessional professor of International Business Ethics at the Schulich School of Business, York University, the President of the Canadian Clearing-house for Consumer and Corporate Ethics, and past national President of the Ethics Practitioners Association of Canada. David lectures widely on a number of ethics themes: notably, social futures, sustainable business, the changing nature of the workplace, and effective frameworks for enhancing ethical management in corporations. He writes a regular feature column in The Corporate Ethics Monitor.
